How it works

Petbooks does a few things no other booking app does.

Here’s what they are, in plain English.

Every plan

Paws, your right hand

Paws, your receptionist out front and your hands-on assistant behind the desk.

Paws answers your owners' messages for you. It finds a free time, books them in and takes the deposit. It can move a booking too. If it's not sure, it asks you.

And for you: Paws fills in your services when you start, tells you how your day looks, shows you who's due back and suggests a promotion when things go quiet.

For example

Hannah messages at 10:48pm about a full groom for Biscuit on Saturday. Paws books him in with Dee at 10:40 while you're on the sofa.

No more answering messages at midnight.

hiya, anything Saturday for a full groom? he's a cockapoo

Hi Hannah! Dee's free at 10:40. A £10 deposit holds it. Here's the link.

Morning, how's today looking?

6 bookings today, Biscuit first at 10:40. Two regulars are due back. Want me to suggest an offer?

Yes please

Just for you, the boss.

Deposits that hold the slot

You choose the deposit. The owner pays it when she books. No deposit, no slot.

For example

Hannah pays £10 to book Saturday at 10:40. If she doesn't show, the £10 is yours to keep, if you choose.

Fewer no-shows. And when one happens, you're not out of pocket.

Circles: get paid for recommending

Owner Circles: your regulars share their own link with friends. You choose the thank-you, £ off or % off their next visit. Every time a regular brings someone new, Petbooks adds it on its own.

Business Circles: you and the dog walkers, trainers and kennels you already recommend send each other owners. When you send an owner to a business in your Circle, their thank-you goes into your account. Money in the bank for a recommendation you were making anyway.

You agree the thank-you between you, a set amount or a percent, and you can counter-offer. Petbooks keeps count.

For example

Hannah sends her link to Megan, who books a puppy groom for Pickle. Hannah gets £5 off her next visit. Then Hannah needs a dog walker, so you send her to Jo's Plodders, and their thank-you lands in your account.

New owners from people who already love you, and money for the ones you send on.

Pet records: every pet remembered

Every pet has its own record: vaccinations, temperament, coat notes and photos. It's there every time they book.

For example

Before Biscuit's on the table, Dee can see his vaccinations are up to date and he hates the dryer. No digging through old messages.

Calmer grooms, and every owner feels you know her dog.

Gift vouchers: an easy present

Sell gift vouchers for birthdays, Christmas or a thank-you. When someone comes in with one, it comes off what she owes.

For example

Hannah got a voucher for Biscuit's birthday. She mentions it when she books, and Paws sorts it.

An easy present for your regulars to buy, and new faces through the door.

Good questions

What can Paws do on its own?

Answer messages, book owners in, take the deposit and move bookings. On Practice, it sorts gift vouchers too. For you, it also fills in your services for you to check, tells you how your day looks, shows who's due back and suggests promotions. Anything it's not sure about, it passes to you.

Is Paws on every plan?

Yes. Each plan comes with a set number of chats a month. We'll show how many when we set the prices.

What happens if a pet doesn't turn up?

You can keep the deposit, or give it back. It's your choice. You also choose how much notice owners need to give to get it back if they cancel.

Are gift vouchers on every plan?

No, they're on Practice. Everything else on this page comes with both plans.

What it costs is on the pricing page.
